testimonial
My neighbour downstairs was complaining about noise from my flat. It had been an ongoing problem. A timber floor had been laid badly on top of the existing ply. The boards were taken up, the ply re-screwed, a layer of linoroll5 laid above, topped with lino. Problem solved. That was three years ago and there have been no complaints since. The Linoroll5 was easy to lay.
Best wishes

To Treat Impact Noise Only
Ensure all floorboards are securely fixed and use additional screws as necessary to tighten them so as not to squeak when walked on. Use Acoustic Sealant to seal between the joints and perimeter of the floor where it meets the walls.
Open the roll and lay from wall to wall with all joints tightly butt up to one another. Do not overlap any joints. Once installed lay or install the desired floor covering directly on top.
To Treat for Impact Noise and Airborne Noise
Infill the cavity between the joists with Acoustic Mineral Wool then screw the floorboards back down ensuring they are tight and do not squeak. Using Acoustic Sealant seal between the floor joints and around the perimeter of the floors.
Fix three layers of Soundproofing Mat on top of the floorboards. Make sure each layer overlaps the joints of the previous layer. Unroll the Linoroll 5 and lay from wall to wall. Use our Special Spray Adhesive to glue the roll to the Soundproofing mats and butt join where necessary and avoid overlapping any joints. Glue a layer of hardboard on top of the Linoroll. Finally lay your floor covering directly on top.
