SAPT220 is a unique sound blocking product produced using acoustic foam with a mineral loaded sound barrier layer (soundproofing mat) fixed to one side and incorporating a scratch resistant protective skin. These sound barrier mats are particularly useful for suppressing noise from machinery and for inclusion into cars and vehicles to reduce road noise, engine noise and transmission noise. Because the insulation is a very effective sound blocker, it gives effective reduction of water borne noise from internally fixed soil pipes when used as an acoustic lagging. So, apart from soundproofing pipes, machinery and vehicles, the sound insulation can be used to lag hoppers and installation into machinery enclosures for that little bit extra reduction of noise.

SAPT220 Spaced Layer Sound Barrier Mats were originally developed for use within motor vehicles to reduce engine noise through the bulkhead and so is produced to be fire resistant to motor vehicle standards. However, because it is such an efficient sound barrier material, it is particularly good as a sound lagging material for use on noisy water pipes as well as a wide range of other noise problems.

SAPT220 is more efficient than our popular SBM5 Soundproofing Mat due to the additional layer of sound absorbing foam and the sound barrier layer also has the advantage of the scratch resistant waterproof facing. The Jointing tape can be used to seal joints if jointing of the product is necessary.
