SoundBlocker Membrane is an award winning lightweight solution for ceiling soundproofing. Nominally only 1.2 mm thick and very flexible.
This innovative material utilises nano vacuum technology, synthetic rubber and special fillers producing a revolutionary acoustic membrane that is a very effective sound blocker when sandwiched between two layers of acoustic plasterboard.
The SoundBlocker Membrane is only 1.2mm thick and provides minimum loss of room space for maximum noise reduction. This award winning product is nominally only 2Kg/m² and a roll is easy to handle and carry by two people. Work on soundproofing a ceiling can now be carried out by a single person as the roll is simple to work with making for a quick, easy, home improvement product.
The membrane easily folds and bends round corners and edges to protect against flanking sound. After the first sheet of plasterboard is screwed to the ceiling, the best way to soundproof the ceiling is to cut sections of the membrane to the size of a sheet of plasterboard then glue it to the next panel using our Sta-Put aerosol adhesive. This panel can then be screwed to the first layer ensuring the membrane is sandwiched between the two. Where jointing of the membrane is required, simply butt join as necessary.Not only is the SoundBlocker Membrane versatile but it boasts a very high Performance noise reduction of (22dB Rw) for minimal thickness and is well in excess of Part E of the Building Sound Regulations when used in conjunction with other materials to soundproof a separating floor.

THE ADHESIVE NEEDED TO BOND THIS PRODUCT IS OUR SPECIAL AEROSOL ADHESIVE.THIS IS A CONTACT ADHESIVE. ONCE THE PRODUCT IS OFFERED UP TO THE SURFACE AND STUCK IT CANNOT BE EASILY RE-POSITIONED.
