SoundBlocker Membrane is a lightweight solution for ceiling soundproofing. Nominally only 1.2 mm thick and very flexible.
This unique soundproofing material incorporates up to date technology, synthetic rubber and dense natural fillers to produce a revolutionary acoustic membrane that gives excellent results when applied to lightweight structures sandwiched between two layers of high density Acoustic Plasterboard. At nominally 1.2mm thick, SoundBlocker acoustic membrane provides maximum noise reduction for minimum loss of room space for. Because its only 2Kg/m² it is easy to handle when cut from the roll. Soundproofing a ceiling is now possible by one person as the membrane is simple to work with making for a quick, easy, home improvement product.
The membrane can be easily folded and bent round corners and edges if required and is similar to Sheetblok and Acoustiblok but less expensive. Not only is this a versatile product but boasts a very high performance noise reduction of up to 22dB Rw when suspended as a curtain and is well in excess of Part E of the Regulations for sound when used along with other sound insulating materials. Although this product has a high sound insulation value, typical of other sound proofing mats, it will not improve a structure by this amount but when correctly installed, will significantly improve the sound insulation of any lightweight structure such as timber joisted ceilings and stud walls.

PLEASE NOTE !! A ROLL OF THIS PRODUCT IS VERY HEAVY AND REQURIES TWO PEOPLE TO CARRY IT. THE ADHESIVE REQUIRED TO BOND THIS PRODUCT IS OUR SPECIAL SPRAY ADHESIVE AND IS A CONTACT ADHESIVE. ONCE THE PRODUCT IS GLUED IT CANNOT BE EASILY RE-POSITIONED OR REMOVED.
