This acoustic foam/barrier composite is a sandwich construction comprising both a 6mm and 25mm thickness of specially formulated acoustic foam each side of a mineral loaded sound barrier mat layer. Particularly effective when installed into boat engine compartments, hydraulic power packs, compressors and generators.

The acoustic foam/barrier is specifically designed to reduce noise pollution from enclosed areas where a high degree of sound proofing is required, combined with resistance to wear and tear.

The surface of the foam is coated with a polyurethane skin that is tough, oil and water resistant and protects the foam without losing its sound absorbing integrity. The foam/barrier is able to give effective sound absorption wherever internal engines or hydraulic power packs are used without the problem of liquid or dust contaminating the foam.

Applications

Marine engine compartments, hydraulic power pack enclosures, compressor housings, plant machinery and many more. The foam/barrier is simply glued into position on the inside walls with the black film protected surface on the outside using our Special contact aerosol adhesive. However, if the product is to be inverted, due to the heavier than normal weight of the foam, it is recommended the foam/barrier is secured with additional mechanical fixings.
