M20AD recycled rubber thin soundproofing system for walls and separating walls to meet Part E stocked and supplied by

Sound Service (Oxford) Ltd.

OVERVIEW

At only 50mm thick the M20AD system is one of the thinnest available that has been tested to prove compliance with Part E for the control of airborne noise through separating walls.  Due to its thinner properties, it is the obvious solution for bringing walls that separate communal halls and stairs into Part E compliance with no adverse loss of space.

Key Benefits

  • Significantly improved airborne noise insulation for walls.
  • Made using 98% recycled vehicle tyres
  • Minimum thickness (Less than 2 inches or 50mm including acoustic plasterboard)
  • Best results on stud and single skin masonry walls.
  • Very easy to apply.

TESTIMONIAL

“I ordered the M20 panels. They are now fitted and work very well – big improvement.”               Matthew Heritage

“The materials are working very well and have reduced the noise propagation enormously. I am very satisfied with the products.”                                                                                                                                                                            Manuel Jimenez

MORE INFORMATION

Due to its high mass of nom. 700kg/m2 and its open structure, M20AD is designed to help block as well as absorb airborne noise thus improving the soundproofing of any wall.  Being so easy to fit, anyone used to using small tools can install this insulation and full application instructions are supplied with every order.  Basically, any wall to be treated should be clean and smooth and as straight as possible.  Then one layer of M20AD is bonded to the wall using our adjustable spray contact adhesive with another two thicknesses of acoustic plasterboard bonded on top using the same adhesive.

A wall soundproofed with the M20AD solution as shown in the drawings above were independently tested and showed the wall that previously did not meet Part E compliance became fully compliant with a sound insulation value of 48dB DnT,W+Ctr.  The change of use value should be a minimum of 43dB and new build 45dB.  Because the M20AD system is so efficient with minimum increase in the thickness of any wall, it is ideal for soundproofing the walls separating halls and stairways to bring them into full compliance with Part E.

Clicking on the link to Tech Specifications above will take you to further information.

The M20AD system of soundproofing walls is designed to bring party walls and separating walls into compliance with the Part E Building Regulations for the control of normal noise levels that would not normally be expect6ed to be heard through walls.  Shouting and other loud noise, particularly at night, will always be heard and because is an anti-social issue, should be addressed via the local authorities.

If space is not an issue, better soundproofing of walls can be achieved by installing an independent stud wall system treated with suitable acoustic products such as acoustic mineral wool and high density plasterboard.   Click  HERE  for more information on these.
